Ahhh Nepal. I hate it when I’m there and love it when I leave. It’s one of the most challenging and beautiful countries I’ve ever been to and no matter how many times I tell myself “okay that’s the last time”, I always go back. Sounds like one of those emotionally abusive relationships right. I can’t help it, Nepal gets under my skin.
In 2010 I lived there for 10 weeks as part of a government funded volunteer trip for under 25 year olds. That’s where I met the Irishman and he’s followed me around ever since.
We both went back in 2011 for 3 months. We both taught English as well as separate subjects in separate schools. Him, science and math. Me, art and geography.
During the school holidays we managed to go trekking and completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek with a uni friend AJ.
Not satisfied we returned to Nepal in 2015 to complete the Annapurna Circuit Trek.
We’re planning to return in the distant future to do the Everest Base Camp trek too! And finally go white water rafting!
